Married Ella Tansey on Dec. 25, 1867; they had five children together, only two of whom survive. Member United Brethren Church. [From the Diary of Daniel Sheets for July 2, 1886: "Died at his mother's in Mooresville this evening of dispepsia."] Buried in Carlisle family plot, Mooresville Cemetery.
