INDIANAPOLIS STA-APRIL 6, 2006

George O. Browne, Jr. 83, Terre Haute, formerly of Indianapolis, passed away Saturday, April 1, 2006 at the Southwood Health and Rehabilitation Center. He was born March 29, 1923 to George O. Browne, Sr. and Marion Bochstahler Browne.

He belonged to the Scottish Rite of Indianapolis, as well as the Murat Shrine Temple of Indianapolis, and was a member and Past Master of Pentalpha Lodge #564 F & AM - Indianapolis, Delta Tau Delta Fraternity, and was a former Eagle Scout.

He is the husband of Roberta R. Browne, whom he married on November 27, 1948, and who survives him. George is preceded in death by his parents, and by his daughter, Janice Linn McCoy. He is survived by his son, George O. (Cathie) Browne, III; brother William A. (Jane) Browne; 5 grandchildren: Daniel (Kristen) Browne, Patrick (Meghan) Browne, Darren Browne, Sarah Connelly, and Craig Connelly; 2 great grandchildren: Cailynn Browne and Trey Browne; as well as several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 8th at St. Luke's United Methodist Church in Indianapolis where Rev. Aaron E. Wheaton will officiate. Arrangements are being handled by DeBaun Funeral Homes and Crematory, Terre Haute. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church, 3050 E. Davis Dr., Terre Haute, IN 47802, or to The Alzheimers Research Foundation.
