Alpheus Bugher Expires Suddenly
Alpheus Bugher, 75 years old, died suddenly from heart disease today at his home in the Boston Post road, near Lake Pattagansett. He underwent a surgical operation several weeks ago, and apparently had been making a satisfactory recovery until he experienced the heart attack.
Mr. Bugher operated the Lake View filling station near Lake Pattagansett.
He was born in Illinois and in his youth went from there to Iowa by covered wagon. He spent most of his life in Iowa, and came to New England about 20 years ago.
Mr. Bugher was a kind and generous man, without a known enemy.
Surviving are his widow, Marie (misspelling), and two stepchildren, Margaret and Terrell Rice, both of East Hartford.
The funeral will be at his late home Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock, and the service will be conducted by the Rev. Elmer G. Page, assistant pastor of the Methodist church in New London.
