William Barber, well known Bird Hill farmer, died in St. Joseph's hospital,
Baltimore, Sunday, August 31, 1941, aged 66. He had been at the
hospital several days suffering from a fractured femur. He was reported to
have been injured while at work on his farm.
He was a son of the late George Washington and Mary Catherine
Davis Barber and leaves his wife, Mrs. Carolyn C. Barber and
fourteen children as follows: Mrs. Hubert Lambert, Eastview; Mrs.
George Miller, Bird Hill; Mrs. Howard Gorsuch, Ogg Summit; Mrs. Lewis
Myers, Eldersburg; Mrs. Harry Flohr, Klee's Mill; Mrs. Hilda Gehman,
Los Angeles, Calif,; William W. Barber, Eastview; Mrs. Leslie Hoff,
Gamber; Mrs. Earl Fleming, Sandyville; Mrs. Clarence Masters, Frizellhurg;
Mrs. Frederick Richter, Mrs. Charles A. Brauning, Westminster;
Mrs. Charles E. Green, and Mrs. Herman Huff, Gamber; also 25 grandchildren,
four great-grandchildren; and five brothers and a sister as follows;
John Harvey Barber, Salem; Harry, Klee's Mill; Lewis M., Bird
Hill; George Calvin, Medford; Herschel H, Frederick, and Ella May
Barber.
Funeral services were conducted Wednesday in Trinity Lutheran
church, Deer Park road, at 2 P. M., with burial in the cemetery adjoining.
The Rev. Harold Redcay officiated.
