Born to Parents Joseph Dodd and Eunice Baldwin he married Jane Gorden Cochran in April 15,1817 and had 7 children:Thomas Cochran, Sarah Louise, Mary Jane, Esther Caroline ( died age 1), Edward Mills, Esther Catherine, Catherine Maria. After the death of his first wife married Sophia Topping on March 28, 1858. He was a ruling elder in the First Presbyterian church for 60 years as per his tomb stone.
