Oct. 11, 1915 - Dec. 29, 2003 Adele Blackstone Gierhart, 88, of Lodi, passed away Monday, December 29, in a local hospital. she was born October 11, 1915 in Center, Colorado. Mrs. Gierhart moved to Lodi in 1951 where she was employed as a registered nurse for Dr. Gordon Roget, Sr. for many years before becoming the director of nurses at Vienna Convalescent Hospital for several years prior to retirement. She was preceded in death by her husband, Russell T. Gierhart. She is survived by her daughters, Karen Stephenson of Lodi and Susan LaFave Hof of Salinas; 5 grandchildren; — great-grandchildren; sister, Elaine Turpin of Oakdale; brother, Bill Blackstone of Arizona. Private funeral services will be held Monday in The Episcopal Church of St. John the Baptist. Entombment is in Cherokee Memorial Park. Visitation will be Saturday and Sunday, 1:00-6:00 p.m. at Gierhart-Wells Donahue Funeral Home, Lodi. Memorials may be made to The Episcopal Church of St. John the Baptist, 1055 S. Lower Sacramento Rd., Lodi, CA 95242.
