Mrs. J. R. White Buried Here

Funeral services were held here
Wednesday morning for Mrs. J. R.
White, 73, who died Monday at the
home of her daughter, Mrs. Lawson
Wiley, in Forest City, Ark., where
she was making her home. She was
ill about a week.

The deceased is well known and
highly respected in Oxford, and her
passing is sincerely mourned by a
host of friends. She was a native
of Lafayette county and spent most
of her life here.

Funeral services were held at the
home of her daughter, Mrs. Dan E.
Wiley on Van Buren Avenue at 10:30
o'clock Wednesday morning with Rev.
J.E. Wallace in charge of the obse-
quies. She was a member of the
Presbyterian church of Forrest City.

Interment was in St. Peter's Cemetery.

Mrs. White is survived by her five
children. Mrs. Dan E. Wiley, Messars.
Howard, Ralph and Ed White of
Oxford, and Mrs. Lawson Wiley of
Forrest City, Arkansas, and two sisters
who live in North Carolina.
