Frances B. King, age 88, of Black Earth and formerly of Poynette, died on Monday, April 25, 2011, at Heartland Country Village in Black Earth.

She was born Oct. 10, 1922, in Missouri to Henry and Mae (Rhea) Struebing. Frances was a Head Start teacher at the Menomonie Indian Reservation for many years before retiring to Poynette.

Survivors include her children, Christopher (Tom) Wilson of Texas, Tracey King of Madison, Erin (Scott) Raasch of Black Earth, Steven King of Appleton, and Carter (Kathy) King of Clintonville; 12 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Ruth Struebing of California; a special niece, Claudia Skue of St. Paul, Minn.; and nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Merry King; two sisters, Pauline and Ruth; and a brother, Russell.

Funeral Services will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 30, 2011, at the ELLESTAD CAMACHO FUNERAL HOME, 1710 Center St., Black Earth with the Rev. Karen Gustafson of the First Unitarian Society in Madison officiating. Inurnment will be later at the Walnut Hill Cemetery in Baraboo. Family and friends may call from 5 p.m. - 7 p.m. on Friday, April 29, 2011, at the ELLESTAD CAMACHO FUNERAL HOME in Black Earth.
