Former Seneca Resident Dead in Toledo

Mrs. Alice Shuey DeTray, 73, former Seneca county resident, died Tuesday, August 11, 1942 at 11 p.m. in her home at 857 Oak street, Toledo. Death was due to complications.

Mrs. DeTray, who was the daughter of Jacob Mary (Lantz) Shuey, was born July 25, 1869, in Eden township. She was married in 1897 to William DeTray, and has resided in Toledo most of her married life.

Surviving are her husband; one daughter, Naomi, at home; three sons, Paul, of Toledo; Donald, Pittsburgh, and William DeTRay, Tiffin; one sister, Mrs. Lavina Armstrong, Republic; and four brothers, Edward and Christian Shuey, Tiffin; Johan and Jacob Shuey of Wilmington Calif. Four brothers are deceased. There are five grandchildren.

Mrs. DeTray was a member of Oakdale U.B. church. Funeral services will be held in that church on Friday at 2 p.m. Short services will be held later in the afternoon at Greenlawn cemetery, Tiffin, where interment will be made.
