Mrs. Christian's Mother and Editor's Sister Dies at Norfolk, Va.
Mrs. L. E. Christian, about 1 p.m., Friday, Dec. 22, received by wire the sad news of the sudden death from heart trouble of her mother, Mrs. A. B. Beach, at orfolk, Va., where she had gone early in November from her house , Lincoln, Nebr, to spend the winter with her daughters, Miss ruth Beach and Mrs. Fred F. Nessmith. The death of Mrs. Beach was a great shock to relatives and friends here, where she visited frequently. In Lincoln, where she had lived for 45 years, news of her death was learned with sincere regret. We quote the Lincoln Star: "While Mrs. Beach had not been in the best of health for some time, she was not taken seriously ill until about a week ago. Her rather sudden death was a great shock to her family and made their Christmas season a sad one. Mrs. Beach was a most devoted and loving wife and mother. She is survived by her husband and seven daughters, Mrs. L. E. Christian, Ashland, Mo.; Mrs. Ross Nolan, Detroit, Mich.; Mrs. W. B. Hardy, Casper, Wyo.; Mrs. Glen F. Loveland, Eskridge, Kans.; Mrs. Fred F. Nessmith, and Miss Ruth Ann Beach of Norfolk, Va.; and Mrs. E. N. Nelson, Lincoln. She is also survived by two brothers, O. P. Wilcox of Sedalis, Mo. and J. L. Wilcox of Ashland, Mo."
Mr. and Mrs. Christian left Ashland Saturday afternoon (Dec. 23) for Lincoln, where they attended the funeral on Tuesday afternoon, Dec. 26, at 3 o'clock. They returned to Ashland last Saturday.
