Nelda L. Davis, 77, of Pana, died Thursday, May 6, 2010 in Heritage Manor—Pana. She was born April 14, 1933 in Mattoon, the daughter of John & Agusta Prahl Miller. Nelda lived most of her life in Pana & Florida and was a homemaker. She was a past member of the Eastern Star in Effingham and was affiliated with the First Baptist Church, Pana.
Nelda married Arthur A. Davis and he preceded her in death in 1976.
She is survived by her children: Sharon Nation & husband Larry, Tower Hill, IL; Frances Luther, Pana, IL; Charles Davis & wife Sarah, Pelham, GA; & Ricky A. Davis, Pana, IL; 9 grandchildren: John Nation & wife Yolanda, Assumption, IL; Jeff Nation & wife Jacqueline, Taylorville, IL; Krystal Davis, Plant City, FL; Nelda Davis, Charlotte Davis, Charles Davis, Jr., Steven Green, Joette Boyette, & Chuckie Cunningham, all of Pelham, GA; 7 great grandchildren; and brothers & sisters: Delbert Miller, Plant City, FL; Deloris Hovious & husband Mauris, Mattoon, IL; Barbara Greek, Plant City, FL; Mary Melton, Harris, TN; & Jeanie Miller, Plewiston, FL. Nelda was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Nellie Darlene Davis; & brother, Leon Miller.
Funeral services will be Monday, May 10, 2010 in McCracken-Dean Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Greg White officiating. Friends may call on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until service time in the funeral home.
Cremation rights will be accorded.
