Surviving are Mrs. Clark, the former Miss Minnie Wheeler of Honey Grove; three children, Mrs. Olin L Crook, Pat W. Clark and Miss Lilla English Clark; three grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Isabel Clark Moore, all living in Austin.
Mr. Clark attended schools in Paris and Honey Grove, and the University of Texas. He was principal of the First Ward School in Paris 1902-3; principal of Clarksville High School; Red River county school superintendent, and editor of the old Red River County News at Clarksville a number of years. In 1920, he was appointed a rural school supervisor by Dr. Annie Webb Blanton, then state school superintendent, and continued in this capacity through two succeeding administrations.
Since his retirement, he had devoted himself to an exhaustive research of Texas history, particularly that of the early explorers and settlements, intending to publish his findings. Ill health a year ago forced abandonment of this, however, and his condition had grown steadily worse during the past few months.
