He was the son of the late William and Katherine Rickard Dagenkolb.
His marriage to the former Ada Irwin took place in 1948.
Survivors besides his wife include one daughter, Mrs. Gary (Dian) Hughes, one son, David Dagenkolb; a step-son, Carl Irwin, all of Cold Brook, five grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Henry (Margaret) Blue, Cold Brook and Mrs. Charlotte Wright, Town of Ohio, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
