Our beloved father, grandfather and brother McLuther Patterson, passed away peacefully on April 25, 2011 in Logan, Utah at the age of 92.

He was born August 30, 1918 in Beaver, Utah to Lewis and Sarah Ann Baldwin Patterson. He married Mary Peterson on June 23, 1940. Later they were sealed together for time and eternity in the St. George Temple.

She preceded him in death on November 10, 2001. Mack was raised and lived most of his life in Beaver, Utah. He served his country in World War II. He owned and operated the Paice Best Western Motel in Beaver for many years.

He was an avid golfer and was instrumental in the planning and building of the Canyon Breeze Golf Course. He loved spending time with friends and family, fishing, and hunting.

He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served in many positions and was a high priest and home teacher in the Pioneer Valley Lodge Branch at the time of his passing. He and Mary served a mission for the Church in Cove Fort, Utah, which was one of the highlights of their life.

They loved to travel and were able to visit many places around the world. They loved spending their winters at the Brentwood Resort in Hurricane, Utah.

Mack moved to Brigham City in 2003 and has lived for the past 7 years at the Pioneer Valley Lodge in Logan. The family wishes to thank the staff at the Lodge, Heart and Hands, and Integrity Home Health for the kindness and service given to him.

Mack is survived by his daughter, Gayle Davis, and his daughter-in-law; Donna Patterson, five grandchildren; Cheryl (Anthony) Bodily, Julie Patterson, Garon (Becky) Patterson, Matthew (Tiffany) Patterson, Dan Hansen, and seven great grandchildren; brother, Elmo (Ivy) Patterson, sister, Renae (Auburn) Atkins.

Preceding him in death were his wife, Mary and son, Gary; brothers Lewis, Ron, and sisters Jessie, Christina, and Blanche.

Memorial services will be held at Pioneer Valley Lodge in Logan, Utah, Thursday, April 28, 2011 at 11:15 a.m. With Graveside services at Mountain View Cemetery in Beaver, Utah on April 30, 2011 at noon and a viewing from 10:30 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. at the Southern Utah Mortuary in Beaver, Utah.

Arrangements under the direction of Southern Utah Mortuary. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to the American Diabetes Association.
