William A. Tuttle 84 long time Chester resident and former councilman passed away on Monday April 25 at the Allay Senior Care Home in Lisbon where he has lived the past several years. Born on December 25, 1926 in Ohioville, PA; he was a son of the late Arthur and Hazel E. Bowen Tuttle. He retired as a shipper from the former Crucible Steel Division of Colt Industries in Midland. He was a very active member of the First United Methodist Church in Chester, the Chester Kiwanis Club, Masonic Lodge #142, the Scottish Rite, and American Legion Post 121. He served his country in the US Navy during WW II and the US Air Force in the Korean Conflict. His wife Jane M. Tuttle, 10 brothers and sisters, and 2 daughters preceded him in death. Two step sons, James C. Rhodes of Chester, and Richard L. Rhodes of New Cumberland Survive along with numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Pastor Phil Dukes of the Church will conduct services on Wednesday April 27 at 2:00 pm at the Arner Funeral Chapel in Chester. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 12:00 pm until the time of the services and interment will follow at the Locust Hill Cemetery.
