Mrs. Ada Dagenkolb, 86, of Cold Brook, died on October 10, 2008, at the St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Utica. Ada was born in the Town of Russia on October 23, 1921, a daughter of the late Earl and Iva (Munn) Irwin. She graduated from Poland High School in 1939 and was united in marriage with John W. Dagenkolb in 1948. In earlier years, she worked as a bookkeeper at Hathaway's Garage, formerly of Newport, and Holt Brothers in Mohawk. Ada was employed as a clerk at the Cold Brook Post Office for several years, from where she retired. Mr. Dagenkolb preceded her in death on February 10, 1981. Mrs. Dagenkolb attended the Cold Brook United Methodist Church and was a former Girl Scout Leader. Survivors include two sons; one daughter; one brother; two sisters; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by several brothers and sisters... Interment will follow in the Gravesville & Russia Cemetery...
