February 12, 1932, LOCALS – Mr. J.D. Anthony, age 77 years, a prominent citizen of Haywood County died suddenly Wednesday afternoon at his home in Brownsville. He had been county surveyor for 37 years and resided at Orysa (Lauderdale Co.) before moving to Brownsville. He is survived by his wife and three sisters; Miss Mary Anthony of Washington, Mrs. Allen Walker of Covington, and Mrs. William Lynn Anthony of Evansville, Indiana, one brother, John W. Anthony and two stepdaughters, Miss Godonell Williams and Mrs. Arthur Young, of Hot Springs, Arkansas.
