The Gettysburg Times February 19, 1931

Mrs. Rebecca Ella Martz, 70, widow of George J. Martz, died at the home of her son-in-law and daughter Mr. And Mrs. Paul Trussel 300 West Middle Street, Wednesday afternoon at 1:30.
Mrs. Martz had been an invalid for the past fifteen years, and for four years she was unable to walk spending her time either in a chair or a bed. She became seriously ill a week ago, death being caused by a complication of diseases.
She was a daughter of George and Harriet Mickley Bushey, and was born in Cumberland county. She had been a resident of Gettysburg for a number of years, her husband, who died July 17, 1917 being an employee of the battlefield commission. Since her husband’s death, she had lived with her daughter.
She is survived by Mrs. Trussel and Mrs. Robert Currens, Shippensburg, a second daughter, and the following sons; Howard C Martz, Cashtown; Dorsey Martz, Biglerville, and Carl R. Martz, Gettysburg. Ten Grandchildren also survive.
The following brothers and sisters also survive, Oliver Bushey, Gettysburg R D; Abram Bushey, Denver, Colorado; Luther Bushey, Railroad, York county; john Bushey, Washington, DC., Mrs. Clara Sowers, McKnightstown; Mrs. L.J. Bucher, Gettysburg, and Mrs. Charles Biesecker, Orrtanna.
She was a member of the Flohr’s Lutheran Church.
Funeral services from the Trussel home Saturday afternoon at 2:00, the Rev. George B. Ely officiating. Interment in Flohr’s church cemetery.
