T. E. COY DIED AT BARING
A Native of Greensburg, He Was 81 Years Old — Wife is Nearest Surviving Relative.
T. E. Coy, 81 years old, a native of Greensburg and almost a lifelong resident of that vicinity, died Saturday at his home in Baring. He had not been well for several years and he and his wife moved to the home in Baring a year ago from their farm at Greensburg. Death came on the fifty-first anniversary of his marriage.
Funeral services were conducted Monday afternoon at the Christian Church in Greensburg by the Rev. G. L. Eaton. Burial was in the Greensburg cemetery with Masonic services at the grave by the Greensburg Masonic Lodge A. F. and A. M., of which Mr. Coy had been a member for nearly fifty years.
Mrs. Coy is the only immediate survivor, the next nearest being nieces and nephews.
Thomas Edwin [sic] Coy was a son and the last living child of a family of eight children of William and Mary Coy. He was born Feb. 17, 1866. He was married Mar. 1, 1896, to Claudia Asbury and they were the parents of a daughter, Hazel Fay, who died when she was 2 1/2 years old. Mr. and Mrs. Coy lived a few years in Ft. Madison, Ia.
