SHACKELFORD, Beatrice May, 86, Ripley, died July 15, 2008 at Golden Living Center in Ripley. She was retired and a member of the Church of Christ. Services were July 15 at 3 pm at McBride Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Rucker Cemetery. Minister Patrick Chapman officiated. Survivors include three daughters, Carol Hurt and Wanda S. Yancey, both of Ripley and Jane Bell (Buddy), Walnut; two sisters, Amy May and Bessie Beibers, both of Ripley; 6 grandchildren, Lane Bell (Lynn), Lisa Meeks (Danny), Mitchell Hurt (Patty), Kelly Hurt (Christina), Allen Yancey (Karen) and David Yancey; 12 ggrandchildren Jonathan, Joseph, Katie Kelsey and Christopher Hurt, Logan and Evan Yancey, Landon and Libby Meeks, and Leigh, Laurie and Larson Bell. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Mitchell Shackeford; her parents, Edgar and Bertie Leone Looper May, one granddaughter, Lori Carol Hurt; three sisters, Nettie Ketchum, Leota Jumper, Ollie Ursary and two brothers, Elmer and George May. Pallbearers were Mitchell Hurt, Kelly Hurt, Allen Yancey, Joe Larry Shackelford, Dale May and Gerald Beibers.
