Milan, MI--Age 83, died Thursday, March 10, 2005 at The Evangelical Home in Saline with her loving family by her side. She was born August 6, 1921 in Milan, the daughter of Hugh Faye and Lillian (Heldt) Sackett. She graduated from Milan High School in 1939 and was a licensed beautician. On Nov. 23, 1940, she married Leo Long in Monroe and he preceded her in death on Sept. 14, 1989. Mrs. Long was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Milan and the Milan Senior Citizens. She also loved to dance and enjoyed making ceramics. Survivors include a son, a daughter, five grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and a brother also survive. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Lester Sackett. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Milan with Pastor Dale Kleimola officiating. Burial will follow in Marble Park Cemetery. Those desiring may make contributions to Saline Evangelical Home or St. Paul Lutheran Church.
