Julia M. Sanders McClintock, 85, of Mexia passed away July 2, 2009 in Mexia. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, July 5, 2009 at Blair-Stubbs Chapel. Rev. Jeff Wright will officiate with interment to follow in the Mexia Cemetery.
Visitation with the family will be 1:00 - 2:00 p.m. on Sunday at Blair-Stubbs Funeral Home.
Julia was born July 3, 1923 in Otto, Texas to W. Alfred and Leler Roberson Sanders. She was a 1941 graduate of Kirk High School. Julia married R. M. McClintock in 1948 in Mart, Texas. She retired from the Mexia State School after 29 years of service. She has been a resident of Manor Nursing Home for the past 11 years. Julia enjoyed gospel music and family reunions, especially the annual fish fry at Lake Limestone. She was a longtime member of Northside Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; stepson, Robert McClintock; stepdaughter, Mozelle Jackson; seven brothers; and two sister.
Julia is survived by one brother, N. F. Sanders and wife, Faye of Cleburne, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Greg Sanders, Don Baxter, Calvin Sanders, Tommy Sanders, Glenn McLelland and Sonny Henderson. Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Wright, Sr., C. D. York and Louis York.
