1869 Obelisk dedicated to 27 enlisted men from Polk Township, Huntington County, Indiana who died during the War Between The States. First erected on the north bank of the Salamonie River,it has the names and units of 27 soldiers inscribed on it, and was moved to Monument City in 1900. That town was razed in 1965 to make way for the Salmonie Reservoir and the Obelisk was relocated to its present location at Monument City Memorial Cemetery. It is not known where the soldiers are buried.
