Mary Elizabeth Bradford Bartlett, died Friday, April 22, 2011, at the Williamson Hospice Facility in Eldorado, Arkansas, at the age of 79. Ms. Bartlett was a long time resident of Forrest City, and had moved with her daughter to Eldorado in Februrary of 2008. She was born in Forrest City, July 21, 1931, to Walter and Bessie Bradford. She completed nursing training in Forrest City in December of 1966 when she received her LPN degree. She worked in the practical nursing field until September of 1999 when she retired due to health issues.
Ms. Bartlett was preceded in death by her father and mother, Walter and Bessie Bradford, her brothers; Wilburn Bradford and James White and sister Patsy White.
She is survived by siblings Brother David White and Sue, and one sister, Wanda Walker, daughters; May Janett Bartlett Luker and Lenny, and Jenny Lynn Bartlett Gadberry, grandchildren; Erin Lynn Luker Gathright and Mark, Jason Andrew Luker and Stephanie, Carroll Eugene Gadberry III and Lori, Caleb Bradford Gadberry and Kayla, and Clayton Robert Gadberry, great-grandchildren; Darby Nicole Gathright, Laney Claire Gathright, Hunter Renee Luker, Kaden Andrew Luker, Caylin Theresa Gadberry, Cameran Ellyse Gadberry, Chance Bradley McCurry, and Drake Hunter Vines, great-great-granddaughter, Kynlei Alexa McCurry.
Ms. Bartlett was known and loved by many people during her 21 years as Medical and Disability Coordinator for Headstart. She loved and lived for her family who were all with her during the short illness preceding her death. We know she has gone to be with the Lord and has joined her family in HEAVEN.
Services for Ms. Bartlett will be held at the Ridgewood Baptist Church, 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, with burial in Forrest Park Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday evening, 6:00 till 8:00 P.M., at the church. Stevens Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. You may log on to stevensfuneralhome.net for the on line registry.
