Al John DeLay(1937 - 2011)
Al John DeLay, 73, of Granite City, Ill., born Nov. 18, 1937, in Highland, Ill., died Friday, April 22, 2011, at Memorial Hospital in Belleville, Ill.
Mr. DeLay was a graduate of Southern Illinois University and Ranken Technical School. He worked for 34 years in Adult Education at Venice-Lincoln Technical Center. He married Lucille Aramowicz June 29, 1974 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Granite City. He served in the Army National Guard and was a previous member of the Venice Lions Club, Granite City Jaycees and Good Shepherd United Methodist Church. More recently Al was a member of the Granite City Knights of Columbus where he was a 4th degree knight and a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Granite City, Ill. Al was an avid Cardinals and Rams fan.
Al was preceded in death by his parents, Dean J. and Ruth, nee Tschannen, DeLay.
Surviving are his wife Lucille DeLay of Granite City, Ill.; two daughters, Audrey DeLay of Granite City, Ill., and Donna Foley of Spring, Texas; sister, Nancy Mae DeLay of Orlando, Fla.; brother, David Dean DeLay of Hallendale, Fla.; aunt, Mary (Gene) Korte of Highland, Ill.; brother, Clarence (Lynn) Aramowicz of Worden, Ill., and two nephews, Nicholas and Andrew Aramowicz.
