Edith Irene Robbins, 93, of LaFontaine, IN, died Saturday, Dec. 26, 2009, at Rolling Meadows Healthcare Center in LaFontaine.

Mrs. Robbins graduated from LaFontaine High School in 1934. She had worked on the family farm, cooked at the LaFontaine Sale Barn for several years, and was secretary/clerk at Robbins Repair Service from 1954 to 1996. She was a member of the Boundary Line Church of Christ in LaFontaine and a 67-year member of the Wabash County Extension Homemakers Riverside Club.

She was born March 3, 1916, in Wabash County to Arthur O. and Addie "Irene" Myers Sutton. She married Harold M. Robbins on Sept. 1, 1946, in LaFontaine. Her husband preceded her in death on Oct. 12, 1996.

Survivors include three daughters, Janet I. (Marlin) Pattee and Vera L. (Stephen) Eidsness, both of LaFontaine; and Dorothy V. (Walter) Branham, of Lagro; six grandchildren, Sharon Pattee, of Lebanon; Donna (Dave) Pattee-Ballard, of Santa Clarita, CA; David (Sherry) Pattee, of Oklahoma City, OK; Ryan (April) Branham, of LaFontaine; Kara (Brett) Windmiller, of Fort Wayne; and Emmy Branham, of Lagro; and four great-grandchildren.

Calling is Tuesday, Dec. 29, 2009, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, 1241 Manchester Ave., Wabash. A service will be held at the fuenral home on Wednesday, Dec. 30, 2009, at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be at Chili Cemetery, Chili.
