Sam B. Waggoner, 69, a retired miner, died at 3 p.m. yesterday in his home, 363 South Webster street. He had been in failing health for two years.
A son of Daniel T. and Emma Barnes Waggoner, he was born Sept 27, 1884. He married Ada Sturdivant Nov. 6, 1909 in Exline, Iowa and came to Decatur 37 years ago from Monteray, Iowa.
He worked in local mines and for three years after his retirement he was employed by the Wilbert Vault Co.
Survivors are his wife; three sons, Lawrence J., Robert B. and Frank, all of Decatur; brother, Walter of Centerville, Iowa.
One child, three brothers and one sister preceded him in death.
