Death of D. H. Goodrich.

Died of diabetes, at his home in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., at 10:10 a.m. Tuesday, September 21, 1915, Daniel Huling Goodrich, aged 57 years, 11 months and 17 days.

Deceased was born near Pecatonica, Ill., October 4, 1857, and moved to Strawberry Point, Ia, with his parents in 1860. In 1873 he moved with the family to a farm near Geneva, Neb., where he lived until January 1908, when he sold the farm and moved into Geneva. In the summer of 1912 he moved to Avon Park, De Soto county, Fla., and in May, 1914, moved to Ft Lauderdale, Fla.

He was married to Arabella R. Beals of Auburn, Nebr., on May 14, 1885. One child, a son, Roy Dale, was born to the October 15, 1886, who is now located in Warrenton, Va.
Deceased joined the Methodist Episcopal church at the age of sixteen and has always been a consistent member of the same. A brother and a sister have preceded him to the better land and a sister, Elva A. Lewis, living at San Diego, Cal., a brother, C. C. Goodrich of Nucla, Col., and D. C. Goodrich of Ft. Lauderdale are left to mourn his death besides the wife and son.

Recently, when his physical powers began to fail so fast, he said he did not care to live in such weakness. On Sunday night he said to his wife, "If it was not for you and Roy I would not care to live."

Mrs. Goodrich arrived in Geneva with the body of her husband at 3 o'clock Saturday afternoon. Roy Goodrich had arrived from Virginia the preceding day. The funeral was held from the Methodist Episcopal church at 3 o'clock Sunday afternoon and in the absence of the pastor was conducted by Rev. B. A. Warren of the Congregational church. The interment was in the Geneva cemetery.
