Obituary
1946 , Ashburn, Turner, GA USA
Mrs Lumpkin of Hobby Section Died Sunday--A sad death occurred Sunday night in the Hobby section when Mrs. Herbert Lumpkin and her infant son, only a few hours old, died. They were buried Tuesday afternoon, following the funeral services at Harmony Church at 3:30, with Rev. P.L. Branch officiating, assisted by Rev. Moore, pastor of the church. The deceased was the former Miss Lonel Anderson, a graduate of Ashburn school and had many friends who admired her for her fine traits of character. Her untimely death at the age of 28 cast sadness over the community. Survivors are her husband and four children, Eddie, Patricia, Neal and Harris, also two brothers, E.J. Anderson of Fort Branch, Ind., and Lafayette Anderson with the Merchant Marines, now in Panama, Canal Zone. Transcribed from a newspaper clipping by Michael D. Brooks on 21 Feb 2011.

Compiler Notes: It is assume the infant son was buried in his mother's arms.
