Services for Esther E. Roland Reed, 76, who died March 10 in Community Memorial Hospital, were conducted Friday from the Youngberg Funeral Home, Waterville. The Rev. William Stephens officiated. Richard Claycamp sang "In the Garden" and "The Old Rugged Cross." Phyllis Carpenter was accompanist. Graveside service was at 2:30 p.m. at the Rochester Cemetery, Topeka, with Youngberg in charge. Mrs. Reed was born June 21, 1904, at DuBois, Neb., the daughter of William and Deborah Roland. She spent most of her life in the Topeka and Blue Rapids communities, and the past three years she lived at the Blue Rapids Nursing Home. She was a charter member of the Rolling Hills Christian Church, Topeka, where she lived before moving to the Blue Rapids nursing home. Survivors are 4 daughters, Katherine Lomax and Esther Hanson, both of Marysville; Wilma Fern Fisher of Federal Way, Wash., and Elva Fisher, Topeka; 1 son, Bert Brouhard, Bremerton, Wash.; 3 step-children, Rose Hiskey of Hiawatha, Emma Davey of Frankfort and Albert Brouhard, Glascow, Mont.; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; 2 great -great-grandchildren; 5 sisters, Naomi Pendergast of Blue Rapids, Ruth Brouhard of Washington, Mable Merrion of Hanover, Julia Woodley of Sioux City, Iowa, Maggie Williams, Blue Springs, Neb., and 1 brother, William Roland, Grand Island, Neb.
