ARCOLA - Rita B. Lammers, 71, of Arcola, IL passed away at 10:28 a.m. Friday, October 14, 2005 at her residence in Arcola, IL. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Monday, October 17, 2005 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Arcola. Father Allen Kemme will officiate. Burial will be in Arcola Cemetery. There will be a biblical wake service at 4:00 P.M. on Sunday, October 16, 2005 and visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. on Sunday, October 16, 2005 at Edwards Funeral Home, 221 East Main, Arcola, IL. Rita was born on September 5, 1934 in Coles County, IL. She was a daughter of Harold E. and Opal L. (Bostic) Naab. She married Glen J. "Whitey" Gordon in 1967. He passed away in 1968. She later married Edward J. Lammers in September of 1969. He passed away on September 1, 1998 Survivors include one son, Shane Lammers and his wife Sheila of Champaign, IL; two daughters, Deborah Gerbers and her husband Dale of Loveland, CO and Jo Brazzell and her husband Spencer of Ft. Campbell, KY. She has six grandchildren, Tracy Cox and her husband Bill, Ryan Applegate, Shannon Nall and her husband Sam, Zachery Brazzell, and Molly and Finn Lammers; four great-grandchildren, Bradley and Colby Nall and Lindsey and Britton Cox and two brothers Harold E. Naab and his wife Becky of Arizona and Leslie E. Naab and his wife Barbara of Decatur, IL and one sister, Patsy Kunz and her husband Ed of Decatur, IL Her parents her husbands, one daughter, Marcia Campbell and one sister Alberta Glover preceded her in death. Rita was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Arcola, IL where she served on the Alter and Rosary Society. She was also a member of the Arcola Women's Club. She served on the Arcola City Council for one term and was on a planning board for the city of Arcola. Rita also served as a director of the Arcola Summer Recreation program for several years. Rita retired in 1997 after fourteen years as Food Service Supervisor for the Arcola School District. Rita had given Amish Land Tours through Rockome Gardens for over twenty years. In Lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Arcola Summer Recreation program or the Arcola Public Library. Obituary written by family members
