Hoffman, Frances Loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Frances Hoffman peacefully passed away on March 30, 2011. Born October 21, 1920, Frances graciously welcomed everyone with a smile and loving hand until the end of her 90 years. She was born the daughter of Nick and Anna Marie Wuertele in Austin, Texas and was preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers, and 6 sisters.

Living in Austin, Frances met her husband-to-be, Dock Hoffman, when he attended the University of Texas at Austin. They were subsequently married on January 10, 1942. After 3 years in California, they returned to their native Texas where Dock worked as an executive for Commercial Union Insurance Company for 34 years until his retirement and Frances was a homemaker and later worked for Petroleum Engineer Publishing Company until her retirement.

Frances and Dock enjoyed a wonderful retirement on Lake Palestine and in Tyler until 1990 when they returned to Dallas to continue retirement and to be closer to their family. Frances was predeceased by her husband who died in 2008.

She is survived by her sisters, Dorothy Keeler and Bertha Wray; her daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Don Springer; her son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Vanessa Hoffman; her granddaughters Shannon Mairs with her husband Scott, and Mindy Cowherd with her husband Darren. Her great-grand-children are Michael and Alaina Mairs and Jacob, Caroline, Noah, and Faith Cowherd. Frances's generosity of love and devotion will be missed by all who had the privilege to know her.

Services will be held at Sparkman-Hillcrest on Friday, April 1, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. Her family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials should be made to Christ Lutheran Church, 3000 Lovers Lane, Dallas, Texas.
