Verda Elaine Thornton Christiansen Levie, 88, died May 12, 1999 in American Fork.
Born February 19, 1911 in Pleasant Grove, Utah, the daughter of Raymond Ross and Cora MaryAnn Peterson Thornton. She married Armo Bertram Christiansen July 12, 1929 in Salt Lake City. She later married Lee L. Levie in American Fork. She excelled in all homemaking skills, worked side by side in the Poultry business with her first husband. She worked at the "arms plant" in Salt Lake City during World War II, and worked for Ellison and Durfey Cleaners. She was a sales clerk for Firmages and operated a shoe store in Provo with her second husband Lee Levie. She was a seamstress for the Utah State Developmental Center and worked as a volunteer for "Senior Citizens" for many years. Her family will miss her wisdom she gained through many experiences in life.She is survived by two daughters and a son: Connie (Howard) Bean; and Janet (Winn) Pierce, all of American Fork; Robert Nile (Patricia) Christiansen, Highland; 11 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren, 15 great great grandchildren; a sister, Myrl Cook, Mesa, AZ, and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Saturday May 15, 1999 at 12 noon in the Anderson and Sons Mortuary Chapel (49 East 100 North, Am. Fork), where friends may call Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday one hour prior to the services. Burial in the Pleasant Grove City Cemetery.
