At the home of her daughter, Mrs. Mary Hatch, in Reed street, this village, on Friday, December 8, 1916, occurred the death of Mrs. Elizabeth Dyer, aged 78 years. She was a daughter of the late Abram and Sarah Woodard, and the widow of Joseph Hatch. Of a family of ten children Mrs. Hatch leaves one brother, Solomon Woodard, of Gulick. One daughter, Mrs. Mary Hatch, also survives, from whose home funeral services were held at 11 am on Monday, conducted by Rev. A. H. McKnight. Interment in Rose Ridge cemetery.

Naples, N. Y. - Mrs. Elizabeth Dyer, aged 78 years, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Joseph Hatch, on Friday evening. She was a daughter of Abram and Sarah Woodard and was born in Naples. She leaves one daughter, with whom she lived, and two grandchildren, Ernest and Celestia Hatch, both of Naples. Funeral services were held from the home on Monday, Rev. A. H. McKnight, pastor of the Bride's parents church, officiating.

Elizabeth Woodard Dyer was born in Naples, NY, in 1838. She was the daughter of Nancy and Abram Woodard. She had two sisters, Sarah Dart Bollard and Wealthy Woodard; and seven brothers, John, Ira, Marcus, Alva, Abram, George, deceased, and Solomon, who is the only surviving one in the family.

Mrs. Dyer was married to Stephen Robinson Dyer January 30, 1855. They resided in Springwater seven years; in 1862 they moved to South Bristol and lived there until 1902, when they moved to Naples. On December 17, 1855, a daughter, Mary Elizabeth, was born, who is the widow of Joseph Hatch. Mrs. Dyer had been a devout Christian for over fifty years; she was at one time a member of the Christian church in Springwater, and at the time of her death was a member of the Naples Baptist church. During the past thirty years she had suffered much from ill health, and during her last sickness her suffering was intense, yet she was always patient. On Friday evening, December 8, 1916, at 9 p.m., she breathed her last.

She is survived by an only child, Mrs. Mary Hatch, and two grandchildren, Celestia and Ernest Hatch, and two great grandchildren, Harold and Mary Hatch. The funeral was held from the home in Reed street on December 11, 1916, at 11 am, and the burial was in Rose Ridge cemetery.
