GALESBURG -- Joe H. Brewer, 58, of 675 Arnold St. died at 6:24 p.m. Monday, Nov. 18, 1996, in the Galesburg Cottage Hospital emergency room.

Born April 15, 1938, in Knox County to Foster and Grace Alexander Brewer, he married Dorothy R. Mealman Burton on March 23, 1973, in Jackson. She survives.

Also surviving are one stepson, Jeff Stranger of Elk Grove, Calif.; two daughters, Tonia Burton and Keri Yocum, both of Galesburg; three stepdaughters, Judi Vancil , Cindy Wagner and Colleen Surber, all of Galesburg; 11 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sisters.

A self-employed trucker for 38 years, he most recently leased to V.S.M. Trucking in Abingdon.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. Visitation will be from 6:30 to 8:30 tonight at the chapel. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
