Memorial services for J.T. Petrik, 71, Sidney, were Friday, Nov. 17, 2000, at the Fulkerson Memorial Chapel, Sidney. Music was provided by Marge Thogersen. Interment was at the Sidney Cemetery, under the direction of Fulkerson Funeral Home of Sidney. J.T. died at his home Tuesday, Nov. 14.
He was born to Jerome T. and Joyce (Hull) Petrik Sr. in Enid Dec. 29, 1928. He grew up and attended schools in Lambert, where he graduated from high school and attended Concordia College in Moorhead, Minn.
He married Joan Evanson in November of 1954. To this union, four children were born. He married Merna Brown in February of 1983.
J.T. worked in farming, automobile sales, real estate and the Sidney Chamber of Commerce. He was a member of Pella Lutheran Church and the Sidney Moose Lodge. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and in J.T.'s early years, he was active in state and local Republican politics.
Survivors include his four children, Beth Marie Petrik (Paul) Raaen of Norwalk, Conn., Rebecca Diane Petrik of Dallas, Texas, Catherine Petrik (Michael) Sciascia of Plano, Texas, and Jeffrey Jerome (Pam) Petrik of Fargo, N.D.; four grandchildren, Rebecca Kate Raaen, Lauren Lee Petrik, Jenna Beth Petrik and Paul Michael Sciascia; two sister, Lea Klasna of Lambert and Elinor Lobdell of Sidney; an aunt, Sylvia Petrik of Sidney; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
