Services for Mr. Lewis L. Rhodes, 75, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, December 22, 1990 at the Arcadia Rose-Neath’s Chapel. Officiating will be Rev. Harlan Smith and Dr. Richard May. Burial will be in Mt. Lebanon Cemetery in Gibsland, La.

Mr. Rhodes passed away Friday, December 21, 1990 at the Minden Medical Center following a lengthy illness. He was a native of Bienville Parish, a retired maintenance foreman from the Louisiana Department of Transportation serving 33 years and retiring in1980.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. H. Rhodes; three brother, F. B. Rhodes II, W. A. Rhodes and Cecil Rhodes; one sister, Blanche Rhodes; one daughter, Beverly Ann Rhodes.

Survivors include his wife, Ernestine Rhodes of Gibsland; one son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Martha Rhodes of Minden; step-son Jeff Day and wife Rebecca of Hammond, La.; step-daughter Mary Lane Day of Baton Rouge; two sisters, Bernice Rhodes Candler of Arcadia, Velma Rhodes Carter and husband Beuford Carter of Minden; sister-in-law Avia Pace Rhodes of Gibsland, La.; four grandchildren, Paula Rhodes McCann, Torie Rhodes both of Minden, Kelly Day Useman of Baton Rouge and Forrest Day of Lexington, Kentucky; one great-grandson, Alex Useman, of Baton Rouge.

Pallbearers will be Sam Smiddy, Jerry Rhodes, Sam Easom, Jerry Shaffer, Jerry Russell Rhodes, and Billy Rhodes.
