John Allen Deloach was the son of Joseph Deloach and Sarah Barnard Deloach. He was one of 8 children. John A Deloach married Rebecca Ann Elizabeth Johnson, daughter of William Randall Johnson and Mary Jane Robert Johnson , on March 7, 1861. He enlisted in the War Between the States on May 9, 1862 into "H" Co. GA 61st Infantry. He died on July 1, 1862 at Charlottesville, VA , in a hospital, at age of 22 after having served for only 2 months.
He was survived by his wife and a young son, John Allen Deloach Jr., who was born 3 weeks before his father was killed.
