Mrs. Schaaf was a retired executive secretary from Morgan-Stanley in Chicago. She was born May 3, 1923, in Chicago, the daughter of Edwin L. and Edna Marie Fowler Larson. Her husband, Robert Schaaf, whom she married Sept. 15, 1943, died March 15, 2010. She volunteered for Welcome Wagon and was a member of the Kankakeeland Needleworkers Guild.
Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Kent and Fran Schaaf, of Schererville, Ind., and Bart and Tari Schaaf, of St. Anne; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; and one sister, Marge Netherton, of Glenwood.
