Mabel G. Stevenson Forsythe, 548 W. Cornell Road, Mercer, formerly of McConnell Street, Grove City, died at 9:35 p.m. Thursday, June 20, 2002, in her residence after a four-month illness. She was 95.
Mrs. Forsythe was born Sept. 4, 1906, in Butler County to Samuel Pressley Stevenson and Laura Best Stevenson.
A homemaker, she was of the Protestant faith.
Her husband, Clarence A. Forsythe, died Sept. 12, 1975.
Surviving are: five children, Doris Wojtala, wife of Gerald, Trenton, Mich.; Shirley Clarke, wife of Roger, Hot Springs, Ark.; Sally Blakley, Mercer; Gary L. Forsythe, Grove City; and Richard L. Forsythe, Midwest, Okla.; three sisters, Anna Heasley, Butler; Edna Osche, Fenelton, Butler County; and Kathryn Stevenson, Herman, Butler County; 24 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Besides her husband, Mrs. Forsythe was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Kenneth L. Forsythe; two daughters, Roberta Schmeltzer and Kathryn Perry; two infant children; four sisters, Ethel Barnes, Edith Ervin, Ellen Perfus and Mary Goefert; and four brothers, W. Lester, John, Paul and Thomas Stevenson.
