Mrs. Stella Pearl Hess, 80, died at Pleasant Acres the York County home, for the aged on Thursday, April 20 1972.
The widow of Rex C. Hess. She was born in Amaranth, the daughter of Jacob and Molly Laley Spade.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church at Wellsville, PA.
She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Gladys Horton of Lockport, N.Y., and Mrs. Evelyn Himes of Dillsburg; two sons, Nhyle L. Hess of Spring Grove, Va., and Owen R. Epard of Mt Wolf; six sisters, Mrs Helen Eller of Amboy, Ill; Mrs Rhoda Dockery of Dixon, Illinois; Mrs. Bessie Salkeld, of Breezewood; Mrs. Annabelle Billand, of Ashland, and Mrs. Jessica Flowers of Hancock, Md.; two brothers, Walter Spade and Archie Spade, both of Amaranth; and eight grandchildren and five, great grandchild.
Services were held at ? P.M. Sunday; April 23 at the Grove Funeral Home in Hancock with the Rev. C. Wolf, officiating. Burial was in Amaranth Brethren Cemetery in Amaranth
