William A. "Bill" Digney, longtime Bartlesville resident and husband of Dolly Digney, died at his home on Tuesday, April 19. Graveside services for Mr. Digney will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 23, in the Matoaka Cemetery, Ochelata (south of Bartlesville). Visitation will be Thurs/Fri, 9AM-9PM at the Arnold Moore Funeral Home, Bartlesville.

William Albert "Bill" Digney, 95, longtime resident of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, and husband of Dolly Digney, died Tuesday, April 19, 2011, at his home.
Bill was born January 23, 1916 in Bartlesville, Oklahoma, son of Albert Clarence Digney and Irene Wilhemina (Hagen) Digney. He grew up in the Bartlesville area, receiving his education at Fish Creek Grade School and Bartlesville High School, graduating with the Senior Class of 1934.
In 1935, Bill was employed with the local Cities Service Oil Company. On November 1, 1941, he was united in marriage to Dolly Evelyn McBrien in Bartlesville. In June of 1942, Bill entered the U.S. Army at Ft. Sill, Oklahoma and served in overseas operations in England, France and Belgium during WWII. Bill was honorably discharged on December 23, 1945 attaining the rank of Staff Sergeant. He returned to Bartlesville and to Cities Service where he retired in 1950. At that time he purchased and operated a cattle ranch south of Bartlesville from 1950 to 1991, retiring in 1991 at the age of 75.
Bill had been a member of the Farm Home Administration Board, Washington County Fair Board, Bluestem Cattlemen's Association, past President of the Caney Valley Angus Association, Chairman of the Osage County Rural Water District Board and was an honorary 4-H Member.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Irene (Hagen) Digney. Bill is survived by his wife, Dolly of nearly 70 years, of the home; son, Stephen Digney and his wife, Pamela, of Edmond, Oklahoma; two grandsons: Kevin and Bradley Digney both of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Graveside services to honor Bill's life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 23, 2011 in the Matoaka Cemetery, south of Bartlesville. Father Festus Maliwa will be the celebrant. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Arnold Moore Funeral Home. Visitation for Mr. Digney will be 9:00 a.m.-9:00 p.m., Thursday/Friday, April 21-22, in the Arnold Moore Funeral Home, 621 S.
