ELDRIDGE, Iowa - Aaron L. Arp, of Eldridge, Iowa, died Monday, Oct. 11, 2004, at Genesis Medical Center-East Campus, Davenport. Celebration of Life services will be 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 15, at Weerts Funeral Home, Davenport. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery, Davenport. Memorials may be made to Eldridge Fire Department or North Scott Athletic Department. He was born Oct. 9, 1922, in Scott County, Iowa, to Walter and Sadie (Runge) Arp. Aaron farmed in Eldridge all his life and in addition, he retired from Oscar Mayer Foods Corp., Davenport, after working there for more than 30 years. He was a member of Oscar Mayer Retirees, Knights of Phythias in Eldridge, Farm Bureau, German-American Pioneer Society, and Plus 60 Club. Aaron enjoyed watching sports. He followed the North Scott Lancers, and also socialized with friends at House Feed. Survivors include his longtime companion, Irene Claussen, Eldridge; sons and grandchildren, Dennis Arp, of Flagstaff, Ariz., his children, Leah and Adam, and Gary (Laura) Arp, of Andover, Minn., and their children, Tammy, Debi, Vittoria, plus 10 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson; daughter and grandchildren, Becky (Dan) Esbaum, of Durant, Iowa, and their children Lynn, Amber, Paula, Jason and Tara, plus numerous great-grandchildren; cousins, Bill (Bernice) Runge, Davenport, Carma (Harvey) Schwarz, Davenport, and Velda Arp, and her late husband, Henry, Eldridge; also Irene's children, Daryl Claussen, Eldridge, Debbie Leggins, Eldridge, Dennis (Teresa) Claussen, Long Grove, Iowa, Deanna (Michael) Reed, Eldridge, and David (Joan) Claussen, Davenport, and grandchildren.
