Kraemer, Daniel A. Attorney and lifelong public servant, died of cancer on Feb. 2, 2002 in Naples, FL. at the age of 78 years. Born in Menomonee Falls, WI, Dan played trumpet in organized bands and orchestras and participated in many high school sports. In 1943, he enlisted and served 36 months in the Air Force during WW II serving as a meteorological researcher. He began his professional career as an attorney in 1949, receiving a Doctor of Jurisprudence Degree from Marquette University. He was legal counsel and member of the Board of Directors for numerous financial institutions and the Mammoth Spring Canning Co., a national vegetable canning corporation based in Sussex, WI. He held executive positions in several county and state legal organizations and committees in southern Wisconsin. As a community leader in Menomonee Falls, Dan served numerous organizations such as chairperson of the local school board, Municipal Fair Housing Commmison, Board of Zoning Appeals, Coordinating Study Committee of the curricular content of the municipal school district and the Committee of school district to determine educational priorities. He was a Village trustee, president of the local Lions Club, president, legal counsel and member of the Board of Directors of Community Memorial Hospital from its inception and continued for 23 years. As a long-standing member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Menomonee Falls, he chaired its School Committee, was Lector and Minister of Communion as well as Grand Knight of the Local Knights of Columbus Council #4240. Dan was named "Man of the Year" in 1981 by the Menomonee Falls Chamber of Commerce and cited by the Legislature of the State of Wisconsin for that honor. Living in Florida since 1986, Dan served in various positions for the Bonita Beach Improvement Association, Naples Community Hospital and the Lee County Solid Waste Advisory Commission. In his later years, he was a volunteer for Habitat for Humanity as well as Lector and Minister of Communion at St. William's Catholic Church in Naples. Dan chaired the Social Committee of Naples Men's Club and was a member of the Board of Directors of the International Men's Club of Naples. Dan was an avid and accomplished golfer, belonging for many years to North Hills Country Club in Menomonee Falls and later to the Imperial Golf Club in Naples. He also enjoyed playing bridge and snow skiing. Dan's wife Kathleen died in 1999. He leaves a son, Steven (Mary) of Winchester, MA: 2 daughters, Kathleen Lattimer of Carmel, IN and Karen (David) Trickett of Winona, MN. He is preceded in death by his sisters Kathryn Ann Vehring and Margaret Frances Berger. He is further survived by 5 grandchildren, other relatives and friends. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thurs., Feb. 14 at 12 noon at St. Mary's Catholic Church, N89 W16217 Cleveland Ave., Menomonee Falls. Entombment St. Mary's Church Cemetery.
