June Marie Arfons

June Marie Arfons, (wife of Art Arfons) 85, passed away surrounded by her loving family on June 8, at the Hospice Care Center in Copley.

Born in Akron on July 4, 1924 to the late Ray and Vera LaFontaine, June had been an area resident her entire life. June was a devoted mother and grandmother, who spent much time caring for her family while her late husband Art pursued a career in car racing. She loved also her regular lunch outings with her group of close friends.

In addition to her parents, and her husband Art who passed away in 2007, June was also preceded in death by her son, Ronald in 2006; brothers, Bob, Ray, and Jack LaFontaine and sister, Lorraine Leibold. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Tim and Shari Arfons of Green and daughter and son-in-law, Dusty and Randy Spraggins of Springfield Twp.; brother, Tom (Lois) LaFontaine of Buchannon, W. Va.; daughter-in-law, Patty Arfons of Akron; grandchildren, Sean, Bryan, T.J., Lane, and Jake; several great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Anthony & Biscan Funeral Home of Green (at the corner of Steese and Massillon roads in Green), where a funeral service will take place on Saturday at 11 a.m. Interment is to follow at Mount Peace Cemetery in Akron.
