Henry Clay Bardin was the son of Gabriel and Juliza (Workman) Bardin.

Henry married twice. His first wife was Arminta "Mintie" Brown, daughter of Mary Jane Fletcher and John Matt Brown. They were married Feb. 12, 1888 in Adair Co., Kentucky. Their children were: Annie Lee, Nannie Etter, Addie Mae, Champ, and Lizzie Fay Bardin. Mintie died Sep. 4, 1899. The place of death of his first wife is unknown. Henry married 2nd Bettie Henniger, with whom he shares a double tombstone.

Cause of death: Facial cancer.

NOTE: The death date on his stone is in error (Jan. 6, 1930). Though some of the handwritten info on his death certificate is poorly written, the death date is very clear and it shows he died Feb. 1, 1930 and was buried the next day by the funeral director(s), Palleson?? and Stotts of Columbia, Ky. The attending physician appears to be S. P. Miller, M.D., who wrote the cause of death was "cancer on face". The informant on the document was "Gobel Bardin" of Fair Play, Kentucky, and the County Registrar shows the name of Mrs. S. P. Miller with no month and day cited but does show 1930 next to her name. Burial was listed as Glen Fork, Kentucky.
