A Sudden Death.

Our citizens were shocked Tuesday evening by the report that Richard D.M. Tullis, an old and respected citizen had suddenly passed away. He had been up town during the day and appeared to be in his usual health. Mrs. Tullis was away from home during the afternoon and Mr. Tullis was to come after her. He failed to come and after waiting an hour after the appointed time she went home. She found his overcoat in its accustomed place but he was not at the house. She went to the barn and discovered him lying dead in the corn crib, where it is supposed he had got to get grain to feed the pigs or chickens. It is supposed he died from heart disease.

The deceased was 62 years, 5 months and 22 days old. He had lived in this county 17 years, coming to Howard with the railroad. He was an old solider, having served several years in the late war. He leaves a wife and several children, all grown.

The funeral services will be held at the Christian church, Friday, January 29, at 10:30 a.m., conducted by Rev. Harvey Hubbell.
