Deceased Name: FERGESON DR. WILLIAM JOEL
FERGESON, DR. WILLIAM JOEL, age 80, passed away January 11, 2003. Born August 9, 1922, in Fort Worth, Texas, he was educated at Howard Payne University, Brownwood, Texas, and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, Fort Worth, Texas. He pastored churches at Liberty Hill, Briggs, Blum, Dorchester and Cooper, Texas, before serving 16 years as a foreign missionary in Nigeria. He also worked with the Austin, Texas Baptist Association, and the Federal Office of Economic Opportunity. He has been active as a deacon at Cliff Temple Baptist Church, Dallas, and, for many years, taught the Special Studies Bible Class. He is survived by wife, Elise, and daughter Anne Neal and husband Bob, both of Dallas. Also, daughter Kaye Carmack and son Brad, of Arlington, Texas; sons Grant Fergeson, wife Norris, granddaughters Katie and Cecily, of Corpus Christi, Texas; and Rev. David M. Fergeson, wife Susan, and granddaughters Malaika and Amanda, of Meridian, Texas. Funeral services: 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 15, Bassett Chapel, Cliff Temple Baptist Church, 125 Sunset Avenue, Dallas, with Dr. Glen Smucker officiating. Visitation will be from 6:00 8:00 PM. Tuesday, January 14, 2003 at Laurel Land Funeral Home. Burial will be in Brownwood, Texas. Laurel Land Funeral Home Cemetery Floral Shop 6000 S. R.L. Thornton Frwy. Dallas 214-371-1336
