CHESTER R MARS DIES IN DECATUR, SERVICES FRIDAY
Chester R Mars, 50, of 993 East North Street, Decatur, died at 9:07 Tuesday evening in the Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be a 1 p.m. Friday at Brintlingers Funeral Home in Decatur, where friends may call after 5 p.m. today. Burial will be in the Tower Hill cemetery.
He was born in Clarksburg, the son of Elmer and Arnie Holsapple Mars. He was a maintenance mechanic for the Z & R oil Equipment of Forsyth. He was a veteran of World War II and a member of the Oren L Davis Post 90 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Mr Mars was married to Lois Delaney October 19, 1946, in Mt Zion.
Surviving are his wife; two sons, Gary and Joe, both of Decatur; four daughters, Dianna, Brenda, Mrs Scott (Sharon) Campbell, all of Decatur; and Mrs Larry (Karen) Jones of Fort Dix, N. J.; two brothers, Noble of Shelbyville and Burl of Streator; a sister, Mrs Harlan (Nettie) Davis of Shelbyville and two grandchildren.
