Cecil Pearl Gardner passed from this life on February 12, 2022, at home, quietly, surrounded by her family. She was born on June 16, 1924, in Blair, Oklahoma. to Dora Lee McElroy and Ada (Shockley) McElroy.

Cecil grew up near Warren, went to school at Elk View School in Jackson County and graduated High School from Warren, where she was a star basketball player. At age 18 she moved to Wichita, Kansas, and worked as "Rosie The Riveter" in 1942 to help the war effort. She opened her first beauty shop in Blair.

Cecil married Raymond C. Gardner in 1946. In 1952, Cecil and Chuck moved to Medicine Park where she continued her beauty shop career. She owned and operated Cecil's Beauty Shop, the longest continuing business in Medicine Park. She held an Oklahoma Cosmetology License from 1944 until 2017. Cecil was also the oldest person living in Medicine Park and was a member of the First Baptist church in Medicine Park since 1958. Cecil was always supportive of her sons and husband in their various fishing and hunting adventures. She put her two sons through college with both receiving BS Degrees from Oklahoma State University. Cecil loved spending time with her family and grandchildren.

She is survived by her two sons, Michael Gene Gardener and wife Carol Lee of Silver City, New Mexico, and Gary Ray Gardner and wife Debra Ann of Medicine Park; sister Deanne Gardner of Grove, Oklahoma. Cecil leaves a legacy of grandchildren: Jason Ray Gardner, Jeremy Lee Gardner, Justin Ray Gardner, and Kelly (Gardner) Lamb; great-grandchildren, Jean Marie (Gardner) Gutirrez, Wesley Cooper Lamb, Tayler Nichol Lamb, Jeremy Michael Gardner, Joanna Marissa Gardner, Katie Gardner, Jacob Gardner and Kade Gardner; great-great-grandchildren, Charlotte Blair Gutirrez, Caleb Rascal Gutirrez, and Haevyn Lamb, along with a host of other relatives and friends.

Cecil was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 48 years, Raymond Gardner; four sisters, Myrtle Davis, Opal Davis, Jody Jennings and Jacky Winters; and brother D.L. McElroy.

Graveside services for Cecil are scheduled for Wednesday, February 16, 2022, 2 P.M. at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Lawton. Viewing will begin Wednesday, February 16, 2022, at 8 A.M. until 11 A.M., Peoples Cooperative Funeral Home, located at 1400 West Main, Lone Wolf, OK 580-846-9018.
